St. George Temple
Cyprus Stump Slab
The St George Cathedral was inspired from the Neo-Gothic and French Norman Revival style of the Mormon St George Temple in St. George, Utah. Completed in 1877, it was completed, during Brigham Young's 30-year tenure as president of the Church.
Bob Murray painted directly on wood slices, retaining the original irregular shape. Dark tones were obtained by making deep marks on the fungus' surface and burning some of the area. The colors and shades, range from buff to dark brown.
